Ben-Gurion Society* Mission to PORTUGAL

November 4-10, 2020

Medieval castles, cobblestone villages, captivating cities and golden beaches: the Portugal experience can be many things. History, great food and idyllic scenery are just the beginning…

Join us as we unlock the keys to Jewish Sephardic history through first-hand stories. From the Golden Age of Discovery to the Inquisition, Portuguese Jewry went from the heights of wealth and success to the depths of anguish and despair. Hear the stories behind these fascinating people and events, and meet hidden Jews whose families have maintained their faith in secret for 500 years.

Mission highlights:

  • Lose yourself in the elaborate corridors of Unesco World Heritage Sites in Tomar and Porto.
  • Explore Portugal's most enchanting settings in palaces set above mist-covered woodlands, craggy clifftop castles and stunningly preserved medieval town centres.
  • Walk in the footsteps of Portugal’s Jewish history and meet with community leaders.

Cost: $2, 260 per person (includes $500 Federation subsidy). Land cost only. Double occupancy. Single rooms available by request. Single supplement is $600. (Price based on a minimum of 20 participants)

Mission Chairs: Jonathan & Julie Fisher, Jon & Sara Kulbersh, Scott & Lindsay Muns
