The Jewish community is dedicated to promoting the well-being of young people. With BeWell, you will find support and tools to respond to the growing mental health concerns of young people aged 12 to 26 and resources for parents, caregivers, and Jewish professionals.

Jewish youth are in crisis.

In an uncertain world, young people face increasing levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns of an accelerating mental health crisis, with more than 4 in 10 teens reporting that they feel “persistently sad or hopeless,” and 1 in 5 saying they have contemplated suicide. The Jewish community is mobilizing to create the support young people need as they face challenging moments.

As a community, we are counteracting:

  • Social stigma which prevents people from seeking help
  • Lack of practical knowledge about the stressors young people face
  • Professionals, educators and parents don’t know where to turn for information, guidance or a supportive community
  • A critical shortage of accessible or affordable mental health professionals

BeWell is a resource designed to educate, prepare, and support you and your local Jewish community. We offer local Federations, organizations and individuals:

  • Consulting
  • Skills-based trainings
  • Educational workshops
  • Resiliency-building programs
  • Grant funding

Our goal is to normalize the conversation around mental health and equip the Jewish community to support all aspects of well-being: mind, body and spirit.

Because as individuals gain strength, so does our community as a whole.

Get the support you need

NextGen is dedicated to ensuring our community knows it has support during challenging times. That’s why we encourage everyone to get the help they need. We do that by connecting community members to Jewish Family Service of Charlotte.

Their doors are open to the entire community, and we invite you to learn more about them.

Emotional Health

& Well-being

We all experience difficulties and emotional struggles at some point in our lives. Some we can manage on our own, with others, we can use some help. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

Community Programs

& Education

Senior Engagement

Jewish Family Services is dedicated to ensuring that older adults feel supported, engaged and connected, and can live as independently as possible for as long as possible. JFS’ team is sensitive and responsive to the special needs of all seniors regardless of faith, race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation.
